The Arizona Diamondbacks have been hot and will look for more against the San Diego Padres. Since they eye their third straight win over the Padres, they have a sweep on their minds. Following a 14-7 triumph Monday, the Padres came back to another triumph.
They did it differently, while the pitching team handled company as the bats were quiet. Merrill Kelly pitched a gem of a match, handing the ball . He went seven innings, with allowed no runs and only 3 hits.
All of the Diamondbacks’ runs were scored in the 1st inning. That is all they had to get a win, though. They were held scoreless for the next 8 innings and came out of it with a success. That is what you call a pitching performance.
The Diamondbacks have really looked determined to enter the postseason of late. Using their backs from the walls, they’ve recognized the hardship and used it to inject into the wildcard race. We have always warned how quickly things can change in Major League Baseball.
The Diamondbacks have really gone 8-1 in their last nine games and also to get into the movie that was wildcard. Regardless of the nice run for these, they’re still 3.5 games backagain. There is not time to relax though they have been doing their part.
The Mets got sexy and have dropped back much. We’ll see whether the Diamondbacks regress and do the exact same item, or continue fighting their way. The purchase of Zac Gallen has done wonders for its D-backs.
A wonderful move for a guy with great potential. He is already showing flashes of his ability to soon be an ace in Arizona. Chris Paddack will counter for the Padres to make this type of handsome flying matchup on paper. Head under for our free Padres vs. Diamondbacks select.

A bargain was swung by the Diamondbacks and he’s made an impact with his new team. Arizona sent Jazz Chisholm to Miami, therefore it was an opportunity of prospect deal. We will not know who won that transaction but Gallen has produced the Diamondbacks enthusiastic. With Zack Greinke traded on the Houston Astros, there’s an opening for an ace from the desert year. Gallen is hitting all the correct notes to find the No. 1 spot in the rotation.
Gallen goes into Wednesday with a superb ERA of 2.79 at 61.1 innings pitched between the Marlins and Diamondbacks. He also posted a 2.72 ERA in seven appearances with the Marlins, then he didn’t allow the trade to distract him if he arrived to the Diamondbacks. It has been the same in him, as he has been sharp with a 2.88 ERA for its D-backs in five starts.
It is worth nothing which Gallen has thrown against some crimes that are great. Together with the Diamondbacks, he has had to dance with Phillies, Brewers, Rockies, and the Dodgers. Since he uttered Twins, Mets, Dodgers, and the Nationals, miami wasn’t easy either. They were handled by Gallen easily, although All of these are teams with bats that will do a great deal of harm. That’s probably the portion of his numbers; he’s doing it against hitters that are great.
Chris Paddack has been great for the Padres. He slowed . Paddack had an ERA of 1.93 on May 20th. Two weeks later he had solid amounts, using a 2.70 ERA on July 17th. Moving right into September, Paddack owns a 3.69 ERA at 124.1 innings of work.
In his last three performances, he has gotten struck for a 7.07 ERA and 1.64 WHIP. He is attempting to keep this so his ERA remains below 4.00 by the end of the season. I think he’ll be adequate from the Diamondbacks, however, it’s a tough matchup against this lineup and Gallen. The Diamondbacks likely keep things.
