With just under four weeks before training camp, the future of wide receiver Josh Gordon remains unidentified — both inside and out the Patriots locker area.
Quarterback Tom Brady and gordon worked last week, based on Brady’s Instagram. But the wideout remains suspended for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy in December.

Count Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman as one of those that does not know if — or when — the group will be rejoined by Gordon.
“it is a lifetime situation and you’re pulling for him… to get better,” Edelman said Wednesday, via Barstool Sports. “And selfishly, I want him because he’s a really good football player and he can help us.
“I really don’t understand anything (about if Gordon will probably be reinstated) going right into it. Like, legit. I have asked 30 people inside the organization and out,’Do you understand what’s going to occur?’ And nobody understands not one thing. Thus, we’re just kind of sitting and waiting to see exactly what the situation will be with him because he’d be a really good tool. He balls.”
Gordon was anticipated to apply for reinstatement in May, based on the Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, but there has not been any update on his position. Gordon did not attend the Patriots’ Super Bowl ring service and hasn’t made any comments, but stays active on media.
