Europa League Group F
8:00pm Thursday 3rd October

Emirates Stadium

Gabriel Martinelli scored two goals and set up another as a plotted Arsenal side turned on the style to thrash Standard Liege 4-0 in their Europa League Group F assembly.
Teenager Martinelli, a #6m signing from side Ituano through the summertime, started the scoring with a great header after 13 minutes and then netted his second using a low, curling finish just 3 minutes later, which makes it four goals from two matches after his dual against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup.
Joe Willock struck Arsenals third goal (22) after a shot from fellow academy graduate Reiss Nelson deflected into his path within the Standard Liege box, together with Dani Ceballos completing the scoring in the second half, poking Martinellis deft cross on the line for his first goal for the club (57).
Unai Emerys side missed a series of chances to extend their lead but the success is another step towards the Europa League knockout stages subsequent to the 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in their opening group match.
