Since they open a three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels the Tampa Bay Rays hope to respond in Anaheim.

The Rays are arriving in the middle of a mini funk into California. They lost their two games at a three-game series against the Rangers in Texas by dozens of 6-4 and 10-9. The Rays got too comfortable following a win in the opener.
It was on the heels of a six-game winning streak for the Rays. They were 11-1 in their twelve matches, and so that the Rays were sexy. It was unrealistic to think that they were going to keep winning that pace. However, they need to prevent a huge thud now.
Despite the run they moved on, the Rays are clinging to a place in the postseason in the American League. They are attempting to fend off the Indians for your wildcard. Presently, that the Rays have a half match advantage and are a half game back from the Athletics to get homefield from the Wild Card Game. Without that run from the Rays, they are not in the postseason right now.
Variance may be a nasty thing for a team and the Rays are hoping that the last two games aren’t a larger signal to come. This show on the west coast in Anaheim is important. From the close of the weekendthey might be looking at the postseason in the outside, in possession of the wildcard, or even have homefield advantage.
There is a lot happening and it should make for an exciting end. Charlie Morton expects to maintain the Cowboys into a minimum for the Angels tonight. Though was able to settle down, he has torched a few games ago. Five-year Angel, Andrew Heaney, is expected to counter for the Angels. Head below for our free Rays vs. Angels pick.

The top pitchers in baseball know how to put performances together. It’s very hard to avoid a bad spot here and there, and also Charlie Morton found out the hard way lately against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid. Morton was pummeled from his former team for 6 earned runs at a 15-1 reduction.
Instead of sticking Morton was all over the area. He may have become that one sense a little excited and it led to a lack of control. His head wasn’t clear that’s for sure.
Morton managed to show that it was not a prelude. He got right back in the saddle and then also neutralized the Indians in a great outing. Morton held them hits and 1-run in 5.1 innings of work. He had been commendable in his second start, leading the Rays into a win over the Blue Jays at the Trop.
Morton surrendered 3 earned runs in 6 innings in which one. He has been effective against the Angels in his profession, as they have hit .224 against him 143 at-bats. The Angels got to him for a 5-3 win in his latest appearance against them.
Andrew Heaney is ordinary, however, the Angels are comfortable knowing what sort of operation they are going to get from him. For a man like Heaney, he can carve out a career, although being average is going to need to alter in Anaheim shortly.
Heaney published an ERA of all 4.15 final year and has a 4.30 ERA heading into tonight. He owns an ERA of 4.24 and also 1.29 WHIP in his past three outings, together with a 4.47 ERA along with 1.31 WHIP in the home. Vanilla across the plank.
However, his last two outings are anything but vanilla. They have looked a bit rancid, since Heaney has allowed 8 earned runs in his previous 11 innings. Fortunately, he was stored by the crime against the White Sox, however he didn’t get the exact same in a 4-3 loss vs Boston.
I do not think that is likely to be great enough Morton on Friday night although he might be ordinary tonight. The Rays got the losses and I find them getting back on course. Happy Friday the 13th everyone!
