Tyson Fury insists because he did for his world heavyweight title fight against Deontay Wilder he has coached as tough for upcoming rival Otto Wallin.
Fury considers a victory on the unbeaten Swede will pave the way for a rematch with Wilder and faces Wallin in Las Vegas on Saturday.
Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has questioned the standard of the recent competitions of Fury however, the’Gypsy King’ says he is expecting this weekend to a struggle.
“I do not underestimate anyone. I give everybody the best respect,” said Fury. “Even if I’m fighting with a man that has had 20 fights and lost 20, I’ll train like he has had 20 knockouts in a row. I never fail to prepare.
“I have trained hard for this battle, as hard as I coached for Wilder, as hard I have trained for anybody. I have not missed him.
“I have been in America for five months coaching, I was in Spain for 2 weeks before I had been coaching at home for two weeks ahead.
“I’m as powerful as I’ve ever been, I believe very healthy and quite precise. We’ve been working on items in the fitness center. He’s tall, a southpaw and also a defensive fighter. That is a challenge.
“But I’ve never met with a challenge I couldn’t defeat, I’ve never met with a mountain I could not scale and I’ve never met a guy I couldn’t defeat – and he’s no exception”
Fury faces Wallin about the weekend at the anniversary of Independence, a traditional date for major fights in Las Vegas.
Fury wore the colors along with a Lucha Libre wrestling mask and WBO, also the WBA and IBF heavyweight champion says it was his choice to resist on the holiday.
“I wasn’t supposed to box with this weekend. I had been supposed in New York in early October,” said Fury.
“However, when we heard that [Saul] Canelo Alvarez was not likely to be battling Mexican Independence weekend, I thought’Damn, what a shock’.
“This was a particular weekend for boxing in Las Vegas for several decades. I thought that the people are not going to have a principal attraction so I need to step in.
“So I introduced my fight date forward four weeks”
