Manchester City have now commissioned a sculpture of former captain Vincent Kompany to be installed out the Etihad Stadium.
Even the Premier League champions also have renamed a street in their practice complex.
The road connecting the club’s academy pitches and the first-team centre was renamed’Vincent Kompany Crescent’, and has a mosaic inspired by his own match-winning goal against Manchester United at 2012.
Manchester City announced the plans in the Etihad, live on Sky Sports Premier League.
“It’s an amazing honour to be recognised by this distinctive club this manner,” said Kompany, who left 360 looks for City.
“The trip that we went on together during my 11 years at Manchester altered my entire life and I am thrilled to have played my small role in altering the length of the club’s history during that time.”
City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak added:”Vincent is a special body in the history of Manchester City Football Club.
“He isn’t only a motivational and resolute leader around the pitch, but an impeccable and articulate ambassador it off.
“His participation will likely be remembered for generations to come, by supporters of our club and the broader football community that recognise Vincent as one of the iconic Premier League characters of his creation.”
