Max Whitlock won his world title on horse and there had been person international medals for sisters Becky and Ellie Downie at the World Gymnastics Championships in Stuttgart on Saturday.
Whitlock had to settle for silver at Doha last season but he edged a close contest with a score of 15.500, defeating Lee Chih-kai of Chinese Taipei and Irelands Rhys McClenaghan, who had pipped Whitlock to golden in both the Commonwealth Games and European Championships this past year.
The greater difficulty of his routine proved critical to his success although an early error might have cost Whitlock.
Whitlock becomes the primary gymnast to win three world titles on the exact same parcel of device – he is Olympic champion – while McClenaghan is your Irish gymnast .
There were tears for Becky Downie, who believed her chance may have gone.
But Downie, who has recovered from elbow and ankle injuries, made a dazzling routine on the uneven bars to evaluate 15.000.
