Team Europe and Team USA go head to head again this week in the Solheim Cup, but that side is going to end up getting home the trophy in Gleneagles?
Europe have dropped the last two editions of this biennial competition, with followed a 14.5-13.5 reduction on home soil in 2015 with a 16.5-11.5 conquer in Iowa two decades back, although they’ve won on both occasions the tournament was held in Scotland.
Catriona Matthew’s side would be the underdogs using the bookies again, but have arguably their strongest-ever team at their disposal, with just 3 rookies in the line-up in addition to half of those players who featured in Europe triumph in 2013.
Matthew ensured the winning half-point because 18-10 triumph for Europe, but can the Scot – Europe top points scorer – skipper the hosts back?
USA have the better team concerning world ranking and are led by Juli Inkster, that will become the first man to three winning Solheim Cup teams, although Europe are bidding to win the event for just the sixth time as the tournament has been introduced.
