Will Domingo German lead the New York Yankees to triumph on the Oakland A’s?
The New York Yankees will be the most profitable team in baseball gambling. That’s not normal. The Yankees usually find themselves in the red, dragged down with all that jolt out of their loving fans. But at press time, New York sit atop the American League East at 83-43 (plus-20.23 gaming units), that places them on pace to 107 wins this season — something they haven’t achieved since 1998 when they set the team record in 114.

Contrast and compare to this non invasive Oakland Athletics. They’re back at the green this season in 71-53, raking in 14.75 units against the MLB odds, but once more, it is going to be a dogfight merely to find the A’s to the playoffs. They’re 1.5 games from the last AL Wild Card spot, using a difficult three-game series coming up against the visiting Yankees. Can they get the job completed in Tuesday’s opener (10:07 p.m. ET, ESPN)? Or perform the Bombers belong to our MLB picks as –150 street faves?
It looks like New York might have finally run out of betting value. Here are the projections we’re looking at for Tuesday’s matchup:
FiveThirtyEight: New York 55 percentage
Equivalent Odds (with SBR Odds Converter): –122
Jeff Sagarin’s Generic Total (approx) ) : 9.25-9.5 runs

Given that moneyline projection, then we certainly don’t want the Yankees at –150. And that is already up from –130 at the start, using the consensus reports showing 94 percent of early bettors loading on chalk. The best price on Oakland at media time is +140, which provides us a little wiggle room about the moneyline — although we’d rather have the A’s at about +162 or more before laying down the big bucks, so we can beat the vigorish in the long term. Perhaps the betting public will keep hammering New York and catch us before match time.
We won’t be advocating the entire for Tuesday’s contest, that is for certain. There may have been some significance on the”below” when this game opened at 10 runs, but got driven down to 9.5 runs fairly fast, with unanimous permission from ancient bettors. Too poor; the”beneath” is 35-29 at the Coliseum this season.
