The Seattle Seahawks are currently counting on a cauldron of new to produce in 2019.
The important player in the group would be second-round select D.K. Metcalf, who has impressed quarterback Russell Wilson thus far during offseason workouts.

“It is great seeing D.K. [Metcalf] make his plays. I think D.K. is looking really, really special,” Wilson said Wednesday during minicamp, through the team’s official website. “He can do anything and everything and he’s enormous.”
Per his modus operandi, Wilson cooed about all the Seahawks’ receivers but offered praise that was specific . The quarterback stated that while Metcalf owns freakish athleticism — running a 4.33-yard 40-yard dashboard and flashing a 40.5-inch vertical at 6-foot-4, 229 lbs — it’s the wideout’s mental acumen that impressed him thus far.
“His knowledge of the game first,” Wilson said. “Everybody knows about the ability to run and jump and catch and all that. But I think more than anything else, it’s his brain he processes information he knows it. He’s really smart, he knows the game well. He chooses training he gets extra work. He is a legit professional wide receiver. He is everything everyone was talking about in terms of what he’s capable of and more.”
After Doug Baldwin’s retirement, a heady playmaker is needed by the Seahawks. Seattle is currently betting growing into that role, and thus way through offseason workouts, the rookie has impressed. We’ll see as soon as the pads come on in July if that trend continues.
