Watford fought back from 2 goals down in half-time to draw at home to Arsenal in Quique Sanchez Flores’ first game since being reappointed manager.
They levelled the scores after Tom Cleverley had reduced the deficit when Gunners defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos gave away possession within his own place, to take their second point of the year after Roberto Pereyra wrapped at a late penalty.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had put the people before he collected Sead Kolasinac’s pass over the flip.
Arsenal doubled their lead as Aubemeyang finished a team move as the Gunners unravelled in the front of the home support, but the hosts enhanced after the break.
The Hornets had their odds to complete a comeback having a second that is decisive, but the Gerard Deulofeu hauled his effort wide.
The effect sees Arsenal go although the Hornets remain rooted to the foot of the table.
The Arsenal striker is just one of the most clinical forwards in the English top flight, with played seven of his final nine shots on target, and the Gunners are quite capable of blowing teams away going forward as a result of the effectiveness of Aubameyang and the technical capability of Mesut Ozil and Dani Ceballos.
Since they went 20 moves for their second target they demonstrated their flair – but glaring problems remain at the back.
This was evident as early as the 10th minute as distance opened for Cleverley, whose fierce effort was saved by Leno and the white and red tops.
Five minutes later, and Etienne Capoue was given distance and the identical time but could shoot over the bar.
The Gunners wish to play from the trunk, and they persisted with his or her own approach even though Matteo Guendouzi lost ownership deep within their own half.
And Sokratis made the mistake that always seemed likely to occur, before Deulofeu diverted the ball into the route for the initial aim of Watford of Cleverley.
The Brazilian has endured at the beginning of his Arsenal career, and has conceded two penalties in 3 matches, although david Luiz was brought in from London rivals Chelsea to shore up the defence over the summer.
Luiz brought Pereyra using a lunge down and the replacement stepped himself up to take the penalty and occupying a point for the hosts.
More to follow.
