Joe Cullen insists he is great enough to win a big after he claimed the Darts Matchplay championship on Sunday.
Cullen, nicknamed’Rockstar’, landed his maiden European Tour title No 1 Michael van Gerwen in the closing.
The 30-year-old in Bradford now has three PDC titles to his title, but he has set his sights on major glory in the forthcoming months.
“One hundred percent it’s about time that I got into some European Tour closing, let alone winning you. It has been a long time coming,” said Cullen, who’s now back in the world’s top 16.
“To beat the guy himself MVG at the final is a dream come true, I can’t put into words how happy I am at that moment.
“Hopefully this will get me into the Grand Slam, because somehow I’ve never played with that championship in my own career.
“If I’m good enough to win one of them then I’m good enough to win a major.”
It is not very long to wait till darts is back on Sky Sports, the World Grand Prix gets underway on Sunday, October 6 in Dublin’s Citywest Arena October 12 and seven days of policy continues until the final on Saturday.
