Usman Khawaja and James Pattinson Are dropped from Australia to the fourth Ashes Test at Old Trafford since Mitchell Starc and Steve Smith come into the 12-man squad.

Australia are all set to make two adjustments to the side that was beaten by Ben Stokes’ record-breaking innings at Headingley at the third Ashes Test.
Quick bowler Starc comes into the squad with Pattinson dropping out, leaving Pat Cummins himself, Josh Hazlewood and Peter Siddle for the three pace bowling areas for the match that starts at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
His inclusion was anticipated after an impressive show in the tour game against Derbyshire of Australia a week – a match in which Khawaja was named captain – taking seven wickets in the match.
Khawaja drops out of the group after featuring in the first three Tests at Number 3, but he’s paid the cost for a mean of simply 20.33 out of his six innings in the sequence.
Khawaja’s place is going to be taken by the coming Smith later he recovered from the concussion he suffered by a Jofra Archer bouncer which hit him in the throat through the second Test.
Marnus Labuschagne, who was Smith’s substitute, keeps his spot in the group following top-scoring in Leeds in both innings for the Aussies.
Australia are currently seeking the triumph which could see them retain the Ashes, having been denied what seemed a victory at Headingley Jack Leach, in the crease by Stokes and his unlikely partner.
David Warner, Marcus Harris, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Matt Wade, Tim Paine (forecast, wk), Pat Cummins, Peter Siddle, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood.
