Stoke City director Nathan Jones insists hell struggle to succeed at the club.
Before guiding the Hatters, the Welshman arrived in January from Luton after winning promotion from League Two.
However, Jones has won only four of his 34 matches and they also suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Championship strugglers Huddersfield on Tuesday night, leaving them three points adrift at the bottom.
Regardless of their start to the campaign, Jones insists he will try to be successful in the club.
He said on Thursday:After the match on Tuesday there has been a lot of emotion and that I wear my heart on my sleeve. I didnt wish to come out and say exactly the things that I have.
I speak to the owners all of the time and theyre great. They understand and Im a fighter. I have talked to them. I know they need me to succeed and are completely behind me. I just need to repay that faith.
I am a strong, hard-working supervisor and front things up. For however long I am here I will do that. Get this first win and it could be a step in the right direction.
Stoke have a test on Saturday when they visit the Liberty Stadium to face league-leaders Swansea.
Jones remains optimistic about his sides chances and thinks his players are able to get out of the present circumstance.
He added:We always put out to win matches. We will try and find ways be careful of everything Swansea City offer but also to be creative at the weekend.
When I felt that the players were not with me I wouldnt be sat here now. I understand theyre. Many are currently going through a difficult time at the moment, however I dont think there is a lack of work-rate.
Everyone has to measure up no matter the manager. We must begin now. Nothing is wrong, it is just margins.
My job is not to be concerned about myself but to get effects. I must lead as a manager. I dont shirk responsibility and I am up for the battle. I dont wish to give up here since I believe it could turn about. I understand that the owners patience will not last forever
