After maintaining ankle ligament damage burnley midfielder Danny Drinkwater will be out for two weeks.
The 29-year-old, who’s on loan from Chelsea, has been attacked hours following the Clarets’ 3-0 defeat by Liverpool on Saturday, 31 August.
Drinkwater is currently not able to train according to Burnley boss Sean Dyche.
“They are human beings and people do get in scrapes,” Dyche explained.
“He is old enough and wise enough to understand you do whatever you can to try to not get into scrapes but sometimes it occurs.
“He’s a part of us. Help him get realigned into where he had been and where he wishes to be and we must work with him. We’ve spoke to the rest will remain private.”
The Leicester midfielder was envisioned with facial injuries following the episode and has been restricted to a single appearance this year.
“We have had a conversation with him and said: What happened in the beginning? What was? OK, let’s move away from that in which to do we proceed from here? That is where we are in,” Dyche added.
