Cheslin Kolbe scored two tries as South Africa showcased their brute power over 14-man Italy using a 49-3 win.
The Springbok speedster touched down in every half, with Lukhanyo Am Bongi Mbonambi, Makazole Mapimpi, RG Snyman and Malcolm Marx also crossing to transfer them top of Pool B.
Italy dropped Marco Riccioni and Simone Ferrari to harm during the opening 20 minutes.
And they dropped after half-time when Andrea Lovotti was shipped off for his role in a spear attack on Duane Vermeulen, another recourse soon.
