We all know what happens in the trail, but what exactly does the travelling circus get up to on the way to one of the very race places of 2019? In the plane, F1 reporter Craig Slater supplies an insight At a live TV first – putting the Sky!
The Singapore GP is exclusively live on Sky Sports F1 this weekend, with our weekend’s coverage starting on Thursday before a spectacular race under the lights on Sunday. And Sky Sports News had the flight also.
F1 creation is rising
Craig delivered the first live television broadcast from a commercial airliner since he reported on-board the Singapore Airlines SQ345 from 35,000 feet, talking to staff members as they prepare for the race weekend.
Now the’European summer’ is over, the Singapore race around the Marina Bay streets that are extraordinary represents the first of seven long-haul events, together with the season.
Lewis Hamilton has a fantastic record in Singapore and will aspire to take another big step towards the first time world championship this weekend, but Mercedes are braced with Red Bull, who must be aggressive on their return to some higher-downforce circuit.
“I think it will be a battle between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton,” said Sky F1’s Paul Di Resta, that Craig also spoke to throughout the trip.
“As well as the best race to gauge this is on is likely Hungary. In Budapest, Max Verstappen qualified on pole position and missed out on a race win. Could he go a lot better this weekend?”
