After suffering a broken wrist in a fall at Worcester on Tuesday jockey Tom Scudamore is place for a spell on the sidelines.
Scudamore was riding the David Pipe-trained Malangen from the opening novices’ handicap chase after his bracket suffered a heavy fall in the fence – badly hampering.
Scudamore gingerly walked away in the episode, but his injury has been verified.
Pipe said:”Unfortunately he’s broken his wrist and he has also got some back pain, so they have kept him in hospital for further checks.
“He’s going to be outside for a while, of course”
The injury of scudamore chemicals a challenging few days to the Pond House group, together with Timeforben and Noel’s Boy equally suffering fatal accidents at Newton Abbot on Monday.
“They say these things come in threes, so fingers crossed it’s behind us now,” Pipe added.
Another jockey from the wars Tuesday has been Callum Bewley, that had to be forced to Borders General Hospital for Additional assessment following falling from Jackie Stephen’s Welcome Ben in Kelso.
Welcome Ben was injured after exiting at the fence and bringing Beautiful Ben down
Bewley’s agent, Richard Hale, explained:”I spoke to his father last night and it seems as though he’s tweaked a couple ribs, but there no harm to any vertebrae or anything like this, thankfully.
“He is clearly a bit sore, but he should not be off for too long, so I wouldn’t have thought – maybe a week or two.”
