Catriona Matthew will hope to direct Europe to Solheim Cup victory this week, six years on from procuring their latest victory.
Matthew featured on three winning sides using the Scot famously.
Europe held a two-point advantage after the opening afternoon and procured a clean sweep in the Saturday fourballs to take a 10.5-5.5 direct to the Sunday singles, in which Matthew confronted Gerina Piller.
Anna Nordqvist halved the opening match of the afternoon, while wins Charley Hull, Carlota Ciganda along with Caroline Hedwall – who feature in the 2019 facet – obtained Liselotte Neumann’s staff and guaranteed the prize would go back to Europe.
Matthews then registered the moment only minutes after, holing a four-footer at the last to claim the half-point needed to retain the cup to the first time.
Europe goes on to win the contest by a margin, asserting seven and a half of the available points to finish a victory.
